Ecology
The scheme will provide a bio-diversity net gain of at least 10% in accordance with the requirements of national planning policy. Working in conjunction with the Council’s ecologist, a significant number of ecological assessments have been undertaken over the last twelve months including surveys of wintering birds, bat activity, invertebrates and water voles. The planning application documentation will be supported by the results of these comprehensive surveys alongside a biodiversity net gain assessment demonstrating how onsite and offsite enhancements will be achieved. It is currently envisaged that the principal ecological enhancements will comprise of tree planting and the creation of wildflower meadow grasslands.
